What your agent can — and can't — do

What it can do

Your agent has access to operations covering your entire workspace. The major buckets:

If you need to…Example request
Load data"Upload the file pagos-mayo.csv to the collections source."
Run a reconciliation"Run the bank transaction reconciliation."
Schedule tasks"Schedule reconciliation X to run every day at 8 a.m. Bogotá time."
Query data"Show me the latest 100 pending rows from the collections source."
Create or edit reconciliations"Create a reconciliation between the collections source and the bank source, matching on reference number and amount."
Create columns and transformations"Add a calculated column that subtracts the fee from the gross amount."
Join or consolidate sources"Join the Mexico and Colombia payment sources into a single resource."
Export results"Export the result of the last reconciliation to the S3 connection."
Configure alarms"Create an alarm that alerts me if there are more than 100 unmatched transactions at the close of day."
Request approvals"Request approval to run the month-end close reconciliation."
Explore the structure"Show me the dependency tree for resource X."
Monitor status"Let me know when the task you just launched finishes."

It covers sources, columns, segments, groups, folders, standard and advanced reconciliations, unions, joins, consolidations, VLookups, snapshots, opening records, schedules, exports, alarms, approvals, integrations, templates, running balances, and diagnostics. If your action falls within Simetrik's normal operation, your agent can do it.

What it can't do (and why that's good)

Your agent operates inside your existing permissions and approval rules — it can't go around them. That's what keeps it safe to use.

ActionHow it's handled
Create new workspacesOnly your administrator can create workspaces.
Manage users, roles, or permissionsOnly your security or account administrator can assign and modify roles and permissions.
Skip configured approvalsIf a reconciliation requires approval, it's requested through the formal flow.
Permanently delete something without confirmationFor irreversible deletions, the agent asks for explicit confirmation before acting.

Destructive actions always require explicit confirmation, and approvals are never bypassed.
